We are a family-owned farming company located in Emerald in Central Queensland. Our farming operations are primarily on Downs soils. We have found that rolling our chickpea and cereal crops post-planting provides significant benefits.
Some key advantages of rolling are:
Improved harvest efficiency by 20–25% as we can harvest faster with confidence that we won’t hit rocks.
Little to no damage to header fronts, reducing downtime and insurance costs.
Reduced combine operator fatigue as they don’t have to constantly watch for rocks and debris.
Minimal soil contamination in grain samples, since soil clods have been rolled flat.
Improved effectiveness of residual chemicals due to a smoother soil surface.
While purchasing and operating a land roller costs money, the benefits and savings we have gained from rolling our crops far outweigh not doing it. When Sahra and I decided to buy, we chose the RollMax, a heavy-duty unit built by AusCut which was sold through Milne Bros in Emerald. I would highly recommend these units as they are Australian-made and built by a family-owned business backed by excellent support.

I am a second-generation local farmer from Greenethorpe in the Central West area of New South Wales and have been doing business with the Larsen family for over 30 years. A few years ago, I upgraded my original slasher to a 6.5m AlphaCut Flexwing Slasher, which has since become an essential part of the daily farming operations at Brundanella Merino Stud.
Having had positive experiences in the past, I chose the AlphaCut Slasher from AusCut without feeling the need to explore other options. One of the reasons for this decision is that sourcing parts and service from a local Australian manufacturer is far more straightforward than dealing with overseas suppliers.
The AlphaCut is a highly versatile and reliable machine that performs exceptionally well across a wide range of tasks. During certain seasons, it remains on the tractor full-time, allowing us to slash thistles or clean up dam banks as needed. Although I initially purchased it for slashing canola stubble, it has been useful in many other applications.
I wouldn’t keep coming back if I wasn't completely satisfied. I highly recommend AusCut for their excellent product knowledge, responsive service, and ongoing support. They’re always quick and cooperative whenever I’ve needed assistance. I have absolutely no regrets about my purchase from AusCut.

We are fourth-generation farmers with over 40 years of farming experience. Our mixed farming operation includes wheat, sheep, and cattle.
We purchased an AusCut slasher primarily for the management of canola stubble as well as for reducing the height of phalaris and fescue for our livestock. Deciding on an AusCut slasher was an easy choice because we trust locally manufactured products and value the convenience of having easy access to spare parts, expert advice and reliable service.
AusCut offers an excellent product range backed by outstanding service and support. We highly recommend their products and encourage everyone to attend one of their open days.

We run a broadacre cropping farm, Benongal in southwestern New South Wales, focusing on a strategic rotation of wheat and legume crops. Farming in low-rainfall areas like ours requires precision, so every decision from crop selection to equipment upgrades is made with efficiency and long-term sustainability in mind.
We recently upgraded from a lighter roller that was difficult to transport and chose the AusCut RollMax for our operation because of its solid build, simple design and superior finish. It’s terrific to see an Australian company leading the way in manufacturing machinery of this quality.
Our farm needed a robust machine capable of handling the heavy workloads associated with broadacre farming and the RollMax fits the bill perfectly. Although our RollMax has only completed one part-season of work so far, the initial results have given me confidence that it will continue to meet our long-term soil preparation and crop management requirements.

The customer service from AusCut has been outstanding. After our purchase, the team reached out regarding a product update and promptly visited our farm to carry out the upgrade free of charge. They also took time to ask for our feedback and experience. This level of service is essential in the farming world, where reliable machinery and responsive support can make or break a season.

I am the owner and operator of a small Angus cattle farm on the outskirts of Cowra, where we grow lucerne and other hay and fodder crops for cattle feed. We also do a bit of local contract work and I dry-hire out the AusCut slasher as well.
When I was looking to buy a slasher, I wanted something that would give a clean and even finish but also do a good job mulching and chopping up stubble. I also needed something robust and strong since I planned on dry-hiring it.
The AusCut slasher has been a very versatile and extremely robust machine. It is quite heavy compared with anything else I’ve seen on the market, which makes it a pretty safe bet for dry-hiring and for heading into unknown areas.
Since buying it, the AusCut slasher has picked up a fair bit of work. I’ve had great feedback from locals using it on blocks here and there and also from some guys who have taken it further afield for much larger jobs.
Working with the team at AusCut has been a great experience. They’re always happy to drop everything and come out to get us going again if we need help and they answer any questions we’ve got pretty much any time of the week.

Bellevue Machinery is a new and used farm machinery dealership owned by Chris and Jodie Taylor. Bellevue Machinery services a vast region in the Mallee and Wimmera with machinery from broadacre cropping to vineyards and fruit trees.
Bellevue has had a long partnership with the Larsen family for many years. We have a very good relationship with AusCut and we currently supply their rollers and slashers. The quality of AusCut products and the great support they provide is very beneficial for us and our customers. This season, we delivered 12 AusCut rollers which received outstanding feedback, with every customer expressing their satisfaction and praising the product for its durability and performance.
Our RollMax land rollers, in particular, have become essential for farmers in the region. These rollers effectively roll stones, clods, and residue back into the soil to create a smooth surface that protects harvesting and hay equipment. Rolling also increases seed-to-soil contact, which helps improve seed germination rates. As with any new machinery purchase, selecting the right machine for your needs is crucial, so product quality and backup service are very important to us and our customers. The AusCut roller range with its broad sizing options covers the needs of all our farmers.
In addition to selling machinery, Bellevue and AusCut work closely to provide ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring customers get the most out of their equipment.
