JOB ROLE:

We are looking for a motivated, experienced and team-oriented Assembly Team Member to join our growing workshop team in Cowra, NSW.

​

You will be responsible for assembling AusCut's range of heavy-duty Australian-made agricultural machinery, including slasher and tillage equipment. Work duties include reading engineering drawings, building and fitting components and sub-assemblies, and performing quality checks to ensure every machine leaves the floor to AusCut's standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble AusCut products in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements

  • Follow Lean Manufacturing concepts as implemented within the facility

  • Apply mechanical fitting skills to ensure correct alignment, tolerances, and installation of components including gearboxes and hydraulic systems

  • Ensuring workers follow correct work procedures and safety precautions

  • Perform quality assurance checks at key stages of assembly and on completed units

  • Keep work on schedule and hold meetings with workers and upper level management

  • Communicate proactively with team members and leading hand regarding production progress and any issues encountered

  • Support the timely receipt, checking, and organisation of incoming materials and components

  • Operating and assembling all production machinery as necessary

  • Using specialised tools as necessary to construct products to customer requirements

  • Forklifting to dispatch area (if holder of current licence)

HARD SKILLS:

  • Sufficient engineering or mechanical experience

  • Familiar with production equipment and machinery

  • Working knowledge of gearbox assembly, hydraulic systems, and mechanical fitting principles (experience as a diesel mechanic or fitter beneficial)

  • Proficient in understanding and being able to work from CAD drawings

  • Forklift and Heavy Rigid license beneficial

  • Some experience with following strict quality assurance processes and procedures

  • Lifting and carrying equipment
